Doris, who has seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, was tickled pink when she received a letter asking her to attend a maternity appointment at Fareham Community Hospital in Hampshire.
She was asked to provide a urine sample for the antenatal appointment.
Bizarrely, the pensioner’s correct date of birth - showing she would be 100 in November was on the appointment card.
Speaking to the Bognor Regis Observer, Doris said: "I was a bit amused by it all.
"I've never been to the Portsmouth hospitals and I don't know where the Fareham hospital is. It's a complete mystery to me how I got this letter.
"I had three children when I was 20, 23 and 29. That was enough."
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust have since apologised and said the mix up was due to an ‘administrative error’.
They said: "We have written to the lady that was incorrectly sent the appointment letter.
"It was a rare administrative error and we have apologised for any unnecessary anxiety this error may have caused."
We imagine Doris was very happy to hear that she wasn’t expecting; after all, it’s been 70 years since her last pregnancy!
