It’s official; data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed the 100 most popular baby names in the UK.

And, looking at the results, it seems as if the current trend for baby names is ‘all things traditional’.

Yup, the likes of Oliver, Amelia, Harry, George, and Emily have all made it to the top of the list - inspired by the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first son in July 2013.

Baby Centre’s Sasha Miller told The Independent that a growing royal trend can be seen.

"George is in the top 10, as are George's dad and uncle William and Harry all leading the country," she added.

"With another royal baby born this year, it will be interesting if Charlotte trends in 2015."

She also noted a trend of girls' names ending in "a", such as Ava, Olivia and Isla.
