The actress met magazine editor Laurence, 46, last year, and he popped the question after six weeks of dating.
According to reports, Suranne, 36, wasn’t interested in the idea of a flashy showbiz wedding and their nuptials took place as Islington Town Hall.
“Suranne is very private and not the type of person to have her wedding in the magazines or on social media,” an insider told The Sun.
“Their nuptials were very hastily arranged with nothing too fancy. But it was intimate and romantic, and both the bride and groom were very happy.”
Last year it was alleged that former Coronation Street star Suranne even kept their engagement under wraps.
A source at the time told the Mirror: “She and Laurence are really happy. They have been low-key about the relationship but they sent a picture of themselves with the ring to family and friends.”
It was recently confirmed that Suranne will be making a return to our screens as DC Rachel Bailey in the ITV detective drama Scott and Bailey.
The show will return for a shortened three-part special next year, and filming will begin in Manchester in September.
Suranne said: “I’m very excited to be returning to the series as Rachel Bailey and this time to be working alongside Nicola Shindler as an Executive Producer.”
