At just 14 years old, Pauline Kidd spent her days in a drug and alcohol-fuelled haze.
After a troubled childhood, she fell in with the wrong crowd and even came close to death after overdosing.
But incredibly, falling pregnant at 14 was the wake-up call she needed to curb her addictions.
The teen was told by teachers and foster carers she’d be incapable of looking after a baby and advised her to have an abortion as the child would be taken into care.
But the determined schoolgirl was adamant she wanted to be a mum and now credits her two-year-old son Logan with turning her life around.

Pauline, from Wallsend, North Tyneside, - who is in a relationship with Logan’s father, Jack Jefferson, 19, - says:
“When I fell pregnant with Logan it gave me a huge incentive to turn my life around.
"I couldn’t bear the thought of having an abortion and wanted to show everyone I could beat my addictions and be a good mum.
“My life was out of control before I fell pregnant.
“Now I’m so much happier. I live in a two bed council house with Jack and I’m hoping to become a midwife.
"Logan has given me a reason for living and I’m determined to be the best mum I can be.”
