After the 30-year-old make up artist committed suicide last month, Jim has spoken out about his devastation at the loss his partner, who he had separated from just days before her death.

The comedian said: ‘A delicate irish flower, too sensitive for this soil,’ after telling followers: ‘I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.’

In the days before the Irish woman’s death, she and the 53-year-old had reportedly split, after three years of an on/off relationship.

But according to reports, the MUA still pined after the Bruce Almighty star, leaving a note behind for him that told him she was sorry, but that she was ‘not for this world.’

Cathriona will now be laid to rest in her home country of Ireland, next to her father - who died of brain cancer in 2012.

The ceremony, which will take place on Saturday in Cappawhite, County Tipperary, will reportedly be attended by Carrey, who flew overnight from Los Angeles to reach the area.

Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend the service, with loudspeakers being set up so that everyone can hear the proceedings.
