Anyone who has become a mother after years of longing and trying will know the immense feeling of love and relief when your baby finally arrives into the world.

One mother has shared an emotional message paying tribute to those who helped her fulfil her dream of becoming a parent after a difficult journey with fertility treatment.

Posting a touching photo of her baby daughter in the middle of a heart made out of syringes, she shared the thankful image with her doctors at the Sher Fertility institute in St Louis, USA.

Added to the their Facebook page, the picture was captioned with: "Thank you to Sher Fertility St. Louis and Dr. Dayal patient Angela, who shows the true definition of love that went into making this gorgeous new baby girl."

The image was shared with the group by new mum simply known as Angela, but many other mums took the opportunity to share their own experiences of fertility treatment.

One Facebook user wrote: "Didn't even tell my husband what this [photo] was, I just handed him my phone… I saw tears form in his eyes as he probably also went through the memories of countless nights, over our four year journey, that he gave me shots. We finally were successful with twin boys and I've never been happier!"

Another emotional parent commented: "They were worth every injection, every procedure, every mile driven to the fertility clinic!”

Director of communications for Sher Fertility Institute Lisa Stark told USA Today: "We felt like it was a provocative, emotional photo that captures the joy and pain of IVF.”
