But Preston, 33, has admitted that he and 32-year-old Chantelle are still in love – and insisted they always will be.
Speaking to new! magazine, he said: “Oh, you know, you never lose those feelings.”
Last year mum-of-one Chantelle revealed she still carried a torch for her ex-husband, and the feeling is definitely mutual.
Although Preston and Chantelle haven’t actually seen each other for a few years, he said they stay in touch via phone.
He continued: “We phone [each other] up and have a little gossip now and again. We haven’t for a few months, though.”
When asked if he still loved Chantelle, he added: “Yeah, she’s just a kind-hearted soul.”
Preston and Chantelle met in 2006, when she was the first ‘normal’ person to take part in the celebrity series of Big Brother.
Seven months later they tied the knot, but their marriage lasted under a year before they called it quits.
But it looks like Preston isn’t ruling out a reunion with Chantelle, and when asked about meeting her four-year-old daughter Dolly – who she shares with Alex Reid – he said: “I’d love to make that happen. I really should.”
