Isn’t young love great? At no other point in your life will it be acceptable to fall manically in love and tragically break up in a two week period and with full guarantee that everyone in the school playground will know about it. Heck, you could even get married behind the bike sheds about a week into your new found relationship and through the trusty means of haribo rings.
Back in the day we used to express our feelings of affection through sly notes passed in class, asking the recipient to tick whether or not they wanted to be our boyfriend. That or we’d get our mates to not so subtly suss out if they fancied us. Alas, times have since changed – we are in 2015 after all.
Instead the young romantics of today’s youth are expressing their feelings through the means of texting, but you’ll be pleased to hear they remain just as awkward about the whole thing as we were.
Twitter user FreddyAmazin proved as much when he shared these heartfelt text exchanges between his 9-year-old brother Damion and his new leading lady.
The text exchange has been shared and liked almost 17,000 times across social media. And to be completely honest, we reckon this young girl is onto a keeper with Damion. Now if only we could find someone to buy us ice cream.
