Getting motivated and setting realistic goals

It all starts from the moment you look in the mirror and think 'I need to do something about this'. Admitting to yourself that you need to change is the very first step and you are already on your way to achieving your goals.

The hardest part is to swap that negative feeling into positive action. Believe me, there are so many fantastic reasons to lose weight but you must find your own and use it. Pin a picture up, write a diary, have a weekly weigh in with a friend; you need to find a regular motivator otherwise you will cheat on your diet which is ultimately cheating yourself.

Try to make this journey as fun as you can. Don’t concentrate on all the things you think you are giving up, instead decide on your next small goal and focus on it, whether that be a couple of pounds or a stone.

Take each day at a time and be nice to yourself. Remember you are doing this for you, so right from day one you can begin to feel better about yourself knowing that you have taken control and are making a positive change.
