Get beautiful the wacky way!

Here at Closer we’re always on the look-out for outlandish beauty tips to keep you looking pretty at minimal cost. We’ve compiled a list of some of the wackiest suggestions out there, all guaranteed to spruce up various parts of your anatomy and have you looking buff and glowing for summer!
Egg white mask
A cheaper solution to a day at the spa, separate two eggs into a bowl and use the whites to make a cheap mask- just don’t cook them first! The proteins help to heal and restore skin’s moisture. Leave on for five minutes and then don’t forget to rinse.
Soften your body with avocado
Wow, a healthy snack and a nutrient for the body, avocado ticks all the boxes! Take a ripe avocado, remove the pit and skin, and mash it up in a bowl. Slather all over your body, let it sit for 20 minutes, and then rinse off. Your skin will be so soft, since avocado is a natural moisturiser.
Customise your own body lotion
Make your own designer body lotion without the hefty price tag. Just pour a few drops of your fave fragrance into any scent free lotion. Massage in and the scent will last for hours!
Honey hair mask
Give your hair a honey shine injection! Mix honey and 3 tablespoons of olive oil together in a bowl. Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap and leave on 30 minutes. Shampoo well (could get a tad sticky otherwise!) and rinse.
Buff with baking soda
If you resemble one of Willy Wonka’s miniature Oompa Loompas after a DIY tanning session, banish those annoying streaks by applying baking soda to your loofah and exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! It works, trust us!
Lubricate your lashes
For subtle come hither eyes, without a tonne of eye make up, coat lashes in Vaseline for a sexy sparkle. Vaseline can also be used to tame the brows and exfoliate the lips, with the aid of an old toothbrush, so many uses for such a simple little product!
Nail varnish woes
If applying nail varnish causes you to look as though you’ve attacked your talons with a magic marker…just go with it. Go crazy on your nails with wild abandon ignoring the varnish that splays over the skin. Simply leave overnight until the varnish dries and then soak your hands in warm water. The unwanted varnish on your skins will be removed leaving you with slightly mad, but definitely cool nails.
And here’s one we found that we WON’T be trying…
Instead of fancy blushers and lipsticks, use a strawberry jelly powder pack, add a little water and voila, a sweet tasting stain for cheeks and lips.
A little bit much for us really…
