Rhydian's dad: "It was a fix"
Tuesday 18 December 2007
X Factor loser Rhydian Roberts' dad says his son was stitched-up and should have won the final on Saturday.
Malcolm, 60, said: "Rhyd's not a bad loser but he feels the same as us about the result – and we think it's a fix. He believes it's possible he was stitched up. He's disappointed for himself and his fans."
Scottish heartthrob Leon Jackson won the show after receiving 10% more votes than Rhydian, 25 in the final.
But many fans have said there was a problem getting through to vote for the Welsh opera singer. Malcolm added: "Most of Wales couldn't get through."
The producers of the show TalkbackThames insists the show was not rigged.
