Supersize vs Superskinny

Supersize vs Superskinny

Tuesday 22 January 2008

In a brand new TV series set to start tonight we finally see the true damage our dieting is having on our bodies.

But rather than throw facts in our faces of how extreme dieting or binge eating is destroying our bodies, the bosses at Channel 4 are letting the results do the talking.

And by that we mean that every week they are actually making an obese binge eater SWAP DIETS with an extreme undereater.

Tonight we meet 23stone Jazz singer Sandra, who desperately needs to lose weight after discovering a history of diabetes in her family.  The show will follow her progress as she swaps diets with Tatiana, a 19-year-old who is extremely underweight and taunted for her skinny appearance.

The pair will swap lifestyles for five days before beginning their own personalised healthy eating regimes, supervised by Closer’s hunky Dr Christian Jessen. At the end of the programme we’ll see if the participants have managed to change their unhealthy behaviour for good, or fallen back into old habits.

The show also follows journalist Anna Richardson as she tries and tests the latest fad and celebrity diets. From the Maple syrup to the baby food diet, Anna will try out the most extreme regimes to uncover the harsh truth behind the quest to reach size zero.

And Closer’s Gillian McKeith is back to tackle Britain’s Biggest Bottoms as a panel of women discover what it really takes to get that perfect bum.

She will also be testing the nation on nutrition, as unsuspecting members of the public are asked to identify a selection of healthy and calorific meals – with unexpected results.

Watch Supersize vs Superskinny, tonight at 8.00pm on Channel 4
