MARK: "I'm not happy with Amy"

With three Brit nominations under his belt, and listing Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen as close pals, Mark Ronson is the man of the moment.
Just last week music-producer Mark, 32, hit the headlines when he spent a night holed up in a hotel room with Amy Winehouse. But with stunning artist girlfriend Cosi Theodoli-Braschi in New York, he’s been in the dog house ever since.
We hear what he has to say about that night, and conquering the Brits.
Q. It looks like Amy was having fun with the paparazzi pretending to kiss you in the back of the car. What did you make of it?
I didn’t think it was that funny to tell you the truth. My girlfriend’s parents are going to wake up and read it in paper in the morning. I guess I’m not as aware of the games that go on with the paparazzi.
Q: What do you think of Amy’s new blond hair do?
I saw it in person and it actually looks good. I thought it looked better then it did in the pictures. She created an iconic look it was copied by a billion people and I think she just wanted to not look like everyone else. I could understand why when every time you turn around, every runway show, everyone has got the same beehive on.
Q: So you’ve been nominated for best male at the Brits?
It’s a strange one. I just picture the best male to have a really amazing body, six pack abs or something. But I’ll take it.
Q: How exciting is it to be nominated for that sort of thing?
I think it’s really exciting. Even though I moved to America when I was 8, I knew that this was an English record. It felt English. I wanted to come here specifically and sign to Columbia in the UK. To be recognised for that and especially by British peers – I can’t actually of think of anything that would mean more.
Q: Do you think Sharon and Ozzy will be good presenters on the night?
I think so. Their show is really funny. I think my mum went to their wedding or something but that’s all I know about them.
Q: Will you be performing on Brit Night by the way?
Yes.
