Exercise and Nutrition

Sound exercising requires sound nutrition to provide energy as well as the essential nutrients to maintain glowing health and a strong body.

Regular workoutees need to keep well hydrated. Try to drink up to 2 litres a day when you're working out a lot, it will help to keep hunger at bay and also flush out some nasty toxins.

If you're in bikini count down mode and are training a lot it might be worth adapting your diet to get the most out of your exercise regime.

Ideally, workout first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and then have a high quality protein shake right after.*This way, your body will start to burn body fat straight away rather than having to get through your full English fry up first.

A power snack around 10am will keep you sated until lunch and replenish your energy levels. An omelette made from 2 egg whites, torn spinach and mushrooms is tasty as well as healthy.

Aim to have your main meal 3 hours later. A mix of protein and vegetables is ideal so I'd suggest  salmon or tuna with leafy green salads or steamed green veggies. For poultry, chicken and turkey are top choices!

Another mid-afternoon snack, like 7-10 raw unsalted almonds, will keep you going until dinner time.  But be careful not to get carried way, portion control is essential when it comes to snacks.

To round off the day, a light meal consisting of lean protein and green veggies or salad is the perfect choice. You can jazz up fish or seafood with a spicy tomato salsa - tomatos are incredibly healthy and chillies will get your metabolism going.

Protein helps the body to burn fat faster, but try to eat no later than 7pm.

Kick anything processed, refined, canned, jared or pickled out of your diet - it might sound drastic, but the results will be more than worth it.

You should also cut out all salt and sugar, and limit caffeine to the smidgeon contained in green tea.
