FRIDGE RAIDER
Monday 16 June 2008
This week TV presenter Hannah Sandling, 32, tells us what's in her fridge...
Where do you shop?
I go to Marks & Spencer, and a speciality grocers near my home as I can get some really unusual fish, fruit and veg there.
What’s your typical daily diet?
Every day, I have the same breakfast – a cup of coffee, an energy-boosting fruit smoothie and porridge oats. For lunch, I’ll have fresh soup or a tuna salad with beans. For dinner, I’ll usually have shellfish twice a week, or my boyfriend prepares a feast for me. He’s an amazing cook!
What’s your must-have ingredient?
I’m addicted to chillis – I love the fiery taste.
What three foods would you take to a desert island?
I’d take Oxo cubes to add to my cooking, chillis as I’m addicted, and maple syrup because I have a seriously sweet tooth!
What’s your favourite drink?
I pretty much live on water. I’ll also have one huge coffee and a cup of green tea a day. I rarely drink alcohol, so I’ll have sparkling water or maybe a non-alcoholic cocktail if I’m out.
Nutritionist Barbara Wilson says:
“Overall, Hannah’s diet looks really good with plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables, juices and fish. She seems to eat little and often, which is great for maintaining energy levels and staving off food cravings. She clearly loves her chillis, but that’s no bad thing since they can aid digestion and speed up the metabolism.”
