Fern on verge of a meltdown

Unless you’ve been sunning yourself on some remote paradise beach for the last month (grrr) then you’ll probably be aware of the turmoil surrounding Fern Britton and her ‘secret’ gastric band operation.  Sadly we can now reveal that the scandal has devastated Fern and left her a weeping wreck on the verge of a career meltdown.

Friends of the This Morning presenter say that while she is putting on a brave face in front of the cameras, behind the scenes it’s a different story and she’d been crying everyday.

One friend at the ITV show said: “Fern is terrified she will lose her job because of the swing in opinion against her. She isn't talking openly to anyone at work and she has gone from being this warm, open, jokey woman to a paranoid, anxious presenter.

"Fern was someone who was always off on lunches with someone from the team. All that has stopped. It's so ironic that she went through with the operation to become happier and in the past few weeks she's turned into a wreck. The bubbly, funny Fern has totally disappeared.

"And she is devastated by the amount of letters from women saying they don't trust her anymore."

Oh Ferny, we still love you!

Its up 2 fern wot she does wiv her body it as nothing 2 do wiv any1 else! hopefull she wont take any notice and good look 2 her and her lovely family.

People grow up!
Lots of people have to get it done!
Its not like she took out a dvd a book and a two part series on how she lost the weight because she didnt she dosnt have to tell people.
i can understand why people would be angry but grow up she didnt not tell anybody because she didnt want to.
i love you fern ! lol
i think shes right to just dissapear for a while and focus on family let people get over it. good luck fern and family! xx

I agree with you Clareyg, very well put.
I think in all honesty, it's not the general public or TM's viewers that are putting the pressure and negativity on Fern, its actually the press and media. Fern is a such a lovely warm person and like everyone on the planet, she deserves to be happy; so what if she was struggling with her weight/diet and wanted something to speed up the process a bit? Who doesn't? - the way the media is acting you'd think she'd killed someone. The sad fact is, she looks amazing, and the press can't handle that so they will do everything in their power to tear her down. What she needs now more than ever is support from her family and all the other people across the country to show her she isn't alone and 'hated' as the media wish her to think.
