Madge's birthday flop

Closer has been incredibly excited about Madonna turning fifty and was expecting her to create quite a spectacle to mark half a century of fabulousness – so we are a bit disappointed to hear that apparently Madge’s birthday party wasn’t so great.
Apparently most of the singer’s A-List friends snubbed her bash – Stella McCartney and close pal Gwyneth didn’t turn up, leaving her to celebrate with only her immediate family.
Madge thanked her husband and children and her religion in a forty minute-long speech (yawn) before adding: “I'm really disappointed. There are a lot of people who are not here tonight, but thanks to everyone who did make it. I can't believe I have reached half a century. It only happens once and this is an event I'm glad to be sharing with you.
Cheeky Guy told his wife that "Out of all your years, you look your most beautiful" in a speech but then couldn’t avoid making a little dig about how most of her guest were actually staff. Ouch!
