Heath's daughter faces court battle for money

Heath Ledger’s two-year-old daughter has found herself at the centre of a £5million legal battle after the actor’s insurance company claim the actor committed suicide so will not be paying out over his death.

Medical experts ruled out suicide as a cause of death when the actor was found dead in January, and instead decided he died because of an accidental overdose.

Yesterday TMZ claimed they had gotten hold of a lawsuit filed on behalf of Heath’s daughter Matilda, claiming the insurance company had acted in bad faith by not paying out the £5million insurance. Although Heath left his family everything in his will, which was written before Matilda was born, his family later announced they were handing everything over to the tot.

The insurance company, ReliaStar insist they have not yet reached a decision over the payout.
