EastEnders scores high at Soap Awards

EastEnders completely thrashed its’ soap rivals at last night’s Inside Soap Awards, bagging an enormous nine trophies which included the prestigious Best Soap accolade.
And Walford’s Lacy Turner made an outstanding contribution to the soap’s success by netting three awards for herself.
The 20-year-old, who plays Stacey Branning, won in the categories Best Actress, Best Couple for Stacey and Bradley and Best Storyline for her racy affair with Max.
The soap also scooped up both Sexiest Male and Female (Rob Kazinsky and Kara Tointon), Best Actor (Rob Kazinsky) and Best Newcomer (Rita Simons).
Main rival Corrie only netted three awards, including Best Bad Boy for Jack P Shepherd (David Platt), Best Bitch for Alison King (Carla Connor) and Best Dressed Soap Star for Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor).
The glamorous Hollyoaks cast only got one award in the Best Young Actor category for Ellis Hollins portrayal of Tom Cunningham, despite dominating at the British Soap Awards in May 2008.
And Emmerdale didn’t fare much better winning only one award for Outstanding Achievement (Chris Chittell).
