Wendy Richard talks about her cancer battle

After a turbulent few weeks for Wendy Richard, this weekend brought more upset as she revealed that she has an aggressive form of cancer, which has spread, from her kidneys to her bones.

The former EastEnders actress said she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the support she has received from showbiz pals, and she is now set to marry her long-term boyfriend on Friday before starting chemotherapy.
 
Wendy has previously beaten breast cancer but said: “It’s more aggressive this time, unfortunately, and has spread. My specialist said I had several useful years ahead of me, but since then it’s got worse.”
