Simon and Terri split

Simon Cowell must be thrilled with his blabbermouth mum, who’s gone and told the national papers every gory detail of his split from girlfriend Terri Seymour. 

The couple had been dating for six years but Julie Cowell had this to say about the break-up:  "Simon has a right to his own life, we all do. But Terri wanted a baby and things didn’t work out.

"I’m very fond of Terri, I adore her. The split was really based on the fact that she wanted a baby and to get married."

The split will hardly come as a shock, as rumours of the couple hitting a rough patch have been flying around for yonks. Terri confirmed the split, saying: "It was a mutual decision for us to split. But we still speak and are friends."

The couple apparently split back in September and Terri is now rumoured to be seeing actor Stephen Dorff (remember him?).

We wonder which lucky X Factor hopeful will be first in line to comfort Simon…
