Celebrities get active for Children in need
Thursday 13 November 2008
It's time to reach for your wallet and give generously - but it's not the pre-Christmas buzz we're talking about!
The BBC's charity campaign Children in Need is rounding up the celebrity troups to raise plenty of cash, and we can't think of a better to cause to support, credit crunch or not!
As always, some great activities have been organised to raise money with plenty of celebrity involvement!
The 'Do Something Different’ campaign is promoting the official Children In Need t-shirts and stars such as Rachel Stevens, Caprice and Kirsty Gallagher have been given dramatic make-overs to create some striking pics!
The t-shirts modelled by these lovely ladies are available from George at ASDA and start from £3 with a percentage of the sales going to Children in Need. Find your nearest store at www.asda.com - we especially heart Rachel's nautical red and white Pudsey shirt!
Other celebs, including Mel C and fashion stylist Zandra Rhodes, have been getting creative. They’ve been given the task of re-styling Igglepiggle, one of the stars of the award-winning children’s programme In the Night Garden.
Each celebrity design, showing Igglepiggle’s new look, will be framed and auctioned on ebay, so get bidding!! Go to www.inthenightgarden.co.uk and click straight through to the celebrity auction.
Sexy Bond star Daniel Craig has donated his Omega watch to another ebay charity auction, which will run from the 10th-20th November. Other items up for auction include:
* A lap on the Top Gear track with ‘The Stig’
* Saturday Kitchen experience – a tour of the studios and a seat in the audience, followed by a meet and greet with the chefs and James Martin
* Match tickets to Leicester Tigers vs Bath Rugby and a Leicester Tigers home shirt
* Pudsey bears signed by the Strictly Come Dancing cast
Go to www.ebay.co.uk/pudsey to bid.
With so much going on, there’s really no excuse not to get involved in one of these fab charity campaigns. Let’s make 2008 a stellar year for Children in Need!
