Tom Cruise's weird friendship ceremony

We thought it was impossible for Tom Cruise to get any weirder than he already is, but apparently there's still some room for 'improvement' in the strange levels of the short one.

We all know the Beckham's are pretty fabulous, but that doesn't mean you (that's YOU, Tom Cruise) have to organise some sort of circus to do a bit of bonding.

The Cruises and the Beckhams have been friends for years now, and to reaffirm their fondness of each other Tom organised a 'friendship ceremony' to be conducted at the families' joint Thanksgiving celebrations.

According to a source, the couples each made a speech about how much they like and respect one another and then vowed to be loyal brothers and sisters forever. Gifts were also exchanged.

The source said: “Tom and David have been friends for years and they and their families spend a lot of time together.

This year Tom wanted to make a special gesture that would show how much he appreciates their friendship and he thought this would be the perfect way.”

If it was anybody else this might have been quite cute in a primary-school-type 'Best Friends Forever' vow, but Scientologist Tom just makes it look a bit creepy, don't you think?
