We reckon there's going to be a few tantrums and tears from the spoilt premier league ladies, as Chelsea boss Phil Scolari has given his players some controversial advice!
The 60-year-old club manager wants his players to kick their perma-tanned, hair extension-ed WAG girlfriends to the curb and “settle down with a nice, quiet girl instead.”
The Premier League football don criticised WAGs for their money-flashing ways and fame-hungry antics, advising players to settle down with a “good wife” rather than being distracted by, er, wannabe .
His comments could be seen as a pop at notorious footie wives and girlfriends such as Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole’s girlfriend, Carly Zucker, Cheryl Cole, wife of Chelsea defender Ashley and the Queen of WAGs herself, Victoria Beckham.
Scolari isn’t the first football manager to slam his WAG-oholic players - Alex Ferguson famously disapproved of Posh Spice back when Becks was England captain and is rumoured to have had a word of warning in Becks’ ear at the time.
Scolari, 60, said: “The best thing for a player in their football life is to have a good wife. If a player has a good wife, you don’t need to worry about him.”
The Chelsea boss linked footballers’ obsession with fast women to their love of fast cars and fast-spending, saying: “Some players only think about today, spending money for the day, spending money on a car, nights out and on this and that.”
“After 10 years, they have spent a lot of money, too much money and they have killed the life.”
Wow! We never knew football managers could be so philosophical!
Being the cynics we are, Closer HQ suspected Scolari had a WAG or two up his sleeve but we were impressed to hear he has been happily married to his wife Olga for the past 33 years.
And unlike many of her modern day contemporaries, Olga, 53, is well-educated and had her own successful career. Good on ya Olga!

I recon it's wrong that all WAGS are getting slammed but i think that alot of WAGS are just goldiggers but only a few of them push themselves into the limelight

victoria beckham and cheryl cole are hardly gol digga they were both millioniares before they even married there hubbys and both already famous them selves but yeh i think wags like carly zucker & alex curran n coleen are just gold diggas n wannabes, they think they have their own career just because theywrite in a magazine colum n go on the tv now and again

I think he's got a point,some 'wags' are obviously with their fottie playing men for the cars,homes and designer clothes,cos some fottie players are mingers,yet their girfriends/wifes are beautiful,obviously a case of gold digging!
I bet half the 'wags' wouldn't look at their man twice if he worked down at tesco,or was a plasterer or did a normal job!
There are alot that have been together years and from the start like the Beckhams,but then youve got slappers like Danielle Lloyd......say no more!

He's spot on here. And his point is that SOME footballers get together with girls, be them famous or not, and they get thrust into this fame hungry, publicity seeking lifestyle which just hinders their commitment to their careers.
But for every premiership footballer and his 'wannabe' arm candy, there's about another 10 who have lovely supportive girlfriends or wives and manage stay completely away from that scene. And if a bloke has a good woman at home to keep him grounded and on the right track, his manager will be more than pleased i reckon! Unfortunately, some of them just can't resist a beautiful girl, even if she only wants him for his money and status.

Think i should probably add that not all famous women with footballers are publicity hungry, take Louise Redknapp for example. She's a perfect example of a woman who is with her man because she loves him, not because it helps her career.
