Forget Dirty Dancing and Mamma Mia - this is the musical we'd really like to see!
Soul diva Mariah Carey has agreed for her astonishing and turbulent life story to be turned into a Broadway production!
The singer with the mighty voice has been in talks with producers for months, but now her spokeswoman has confirmed that the musical has been given the go-ahead for 2009.
And apparently Mariah has her eye on our very own Leona Lewis to play the lead role! An insider revealed: “Mariah’s not sure if she’ll star in it herself. If she doesn’t, names being tossed around include High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria.
"But Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.”
What we're wondering is if modest Leona would be able to act out La Carey's alleged diva demands!
Whoever will take on the lead will have to act their heart out though - Mariah has seen her fair share of drama and setbacks in her life, including her divorce from first husband Tommy Mottola and her reported breakdown in 2001.
If all goes to plan, the show is said to be ready for as early as March 2009, just in time for the lady's 40th birthday!
Gripping stuff... would you go and see it?

I'd be tempted to go, just to see what it's like. And thats from someone who doesn't like Broadway musicals at all! [Oh and assuming it's not ridiculously expensive of course! Lol]

haha celebritys make me laugh mariah carey has not had some sort amazing life what everyone wants to know about!! everyone in the real world goes through more shit in a year then what happens to her throughout her life!! omg come on shes had a divorce and felt sorry for herself in 2001.. she needs her head bringing back down to earth
