Cheryl tops the cool list

What a year it has been for Cheryl Cole! Not only has the Girls Aloud star scooped a best-selling album, a top-rating TV show and a Vogue cover shoot, the Geordie lass has been voted the Coolest Female Celebrity of 2008 - by teenagers.

The X Factor judge beat the likes of Paris Hilton to the honour, not long after she came top of another poll - Best Celebrity Boobs.

More than 20,000 teenagers voted for the most cutting edge stars on social network site Bebo in the first ever Bebo Cool Awards.

High School Musical star Zac Efron won Coolest Male, beating David Beckham and Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner, who came sixth and joint-fourth respectively.

Katy Perry was voted Coolest Solo star, while Kings Of Leon were named Coolest Band in front of The Killers.

So, what do you reckon? Does Cheryl deserve the honour - or do you have a better suggestion?

I reckon britney should have gotten it as she has gone from strength to strength in the last year and been to hell and back. Granted her past is nothing to aspire to but her recovery definitely is which makes her cool.

Katy Perry should have been most annoying!
Becks should have won coolest male,(umm)
Cheryl is nice,but i wouldn't say she's the coolest!

(but then it was voted for by teenages)

what britney should not have been it! whats cool about taking drugs and ahving your hair off real role model for teenages!! cheryl deserved to win!! and katy perry is not annoying shes cool!!

Well we are now officially living in our own created world where the celebrity is King ( or Queen ) Cheryl is lovely and is a welcome addition to X Factor but puleeeezeeee..... The Coolest Female Celebrity? Who thought up this crass award? We should be encouraging our young teens to get an education to get on in this bad old world, as far too many of them believe that they will achieve stardom, success, fame and riches through the celebrity route.... How very very sad.
