Simon calls in the lawyers for Cheryl

Let's be honest: it is fairly obvious that Simon Cowell has got a bit of a crush on the gorgeous Cheryl Cole (we don't blame you Si, so do we), and he's just gone and confirmed our suspicions!

The TV magnat is so convinced that Chezza would be a big hit across the pond that he has called in a team of lawyers to sort out her US visa.

As you might remember, Cheryl had a tiny incident with a toilet attendant that led to a conviction for assault back in 2003, which is spoiling her chances to get the crucial "P" visa that all entertainers need to work in the US.

So Simon, who is super keen to turn her into a big star in America, has hired a top team of legal experts to sort out any potential glitches.

And it is rumoured that Mr Cowell has opened talks to get the Girls Aloud babe on Oprah after seeing her popularity sky-rocket as a judge on The X Factor!

Hmm... we wonder if the Americans will be able to understand Cheryl's Geordie accent!

Now i like Cheryl but why should she be able to get a work visa in the states just because Simon can afford top briefs!
She should have thought about what she was doing before she got arrested for assault if she wanted to work over there!
Just another case of 'who you know'!

i think cheryl should be able to go to the US, i think they'll like her as much as we do!

& Clarabella.. you're right. it is a case of 'who you know'. that's what life is about. 'it's not what you know, it's who you know!'

The conviction was a one off incident five years ago, surely it's "spent".

Not necessarily,when your filling in job applications you have to (or supposed to) declare all convictions whether you think they are spent or not.
If you don't,and employers find out it can be instant dissmisal.
(dosn't matter if it was 5,10 or even 20 years ago)
Cheryl has a conviction for aggravated racial assult,yes it was five years ago,but why should there be one fule for her and one for everybody else. People do make mistakes,but unfortunatly some people have to live with theres.
