Just a few months ago, Shell Short was finally close to achieving her goal of transforming herself into her idol Jordan. People asked for her autograph, and lookalike agencies promised her lots of work.

But it hasn’t come cheap. Last year, Shell, 26, spent a staggering £32,250 on cosmetic surgery, beauty treatments and clothes to  look like the star, and is now £30,000 in debt.

But Shell has realised that being Jordan is not only expensive, it’s hard work too, and she’s struggling to maintain the star’s size 6 figure after piling on weight over Christmas.

“I’m really angry at myself for putting on weight,” says Shell, who lives in London.

“In December, everyone was telling me how much I looked like Jordan, but that’s not happening now. But I’m on a strict diet, I’m getting veneers, and my lips injected again. Then I’ll be as successful as Jordan.”

Shell claims her obsession with celebrities  when she was a size 12 teenager made her want to change the way she looked.

“I wanted to look like Jessica Simpson,” she says. “I thought I was ugly and that having big boobs and a tiny waist would make me happy.”

So when she turned 20, Shell set out to become a glamour model. She spent £3,500 boosting her chest from a 32B to a 32D, £4,500 on laser skin treatment, £400 on hair extensions and £1,500 on professional photographs – all paid for with credit cards.

She says: “I wanted to become a glamour model because it seemed an easy route to fame and fortune. I wasn’t worried about getting into debt because I knew I’d be able to pay the money back once I started modelling.

“And not long after, I got work posing in lingerie for Playboy and other men’s magazines. But I only earned £600 a month, so I had to work as an admin assistant and a dance teacher as well.

“My mates said I was gorgeous, but I hated my fat face and chunky thighs. At times I became so depressed I wouldn’t go out.”

Shell was never short of male attention, but admits that some men have told her she needs therapy.

“A few exes said I was obsessed with myself because I spent so much money on my appearance, but I was just unhappy,” she says.

Shell’s celebrity obsession continued into her 20s, and last year she turned her attention to Katie Price, spending hours studying the model’s image and clothes. Shell wants to look like her idol Katie Price

“I’m impressed by how much money she’s made and how her new brown hair, smaller boobs and bigger lips have made her even more popular. I thought if I could look like her, I could be just as successful,” she says.

Shell’s transformation began in April 2008, when she spent £500 having her blonde hair dyed brown and boosted with extensions. 

“When Jordan went to the US for surgery, I kept a list of her ops and had them done in the UK over the summer,” says Shell, who earns £1,800 a month.

“My breasts were enlarged to a size 32DD, I had fillers in my cheekbones, my lips were injected with Restalyne and I had liposuction on my stomach, bottom and thighs. It cost £13,500, which I paid for with six credit cards and two loans.”

Shell’s boyfriend of eight months, builder Daniel Howard, 25, admits he’s concerned by Shell’s bizarre obsession. He says: “I tell her she’s attractive but she’s never satisfied.”

Incredibly, Shell’s mum, taxi driver Tracey Short, 47, supports her daughter’s lifestyle. “At least she’s not spending her money on fags and booze,” says Tracey, from Plymouth.

According to Shell, her efforts started to pay off towards the end of last year. “People used to ask for my autograph and I’d get strange looks at the shops, which made me feel like a celeb,” she says. “I’m determined to get back to that point again.”

And despite the fact she doesn’t know how she’ll pay off her debts, she is adamant she’ll  have surgery again to keep up with her idol.

“I haven’t done any lookalike work yet, but I know I can earn £500 a day. I’ve been told I’ll get lots of bookings,” she insists.

“I break down in tears worrying about my debts, but when I look in the mirror and can almost see Jordan staring back, I know it’s worth it.”

orrr god. she does seem a bit obsessed dunt she. she shunt try to keep up with jordan's surgeries because jordan can afford to have anything she wants done, but shell cant. & anyway.. why would she wana ook exactly like jordan? she shud want to make her own image. one that no one else has got. I feel sorry for her. The problem is obviously psychological and no amount of surgery is going to change how she feels. There is no way that she needs it as she was lovely beforehand. Trying to be just like a celebrity is an impossible and unrealistic ideal and I hope she can realise this soon and be herself.

Firstly she has wasted all that money on nothing because she looks nothing like Jordan!
Doesn't it tell her something when she hasn't had any look-a-like jobs?
Jordan doesn't even look like herself anymore with all the work she's had done,why would anyone want to look plastic with no movement in their face!!
What a waste of money,somehow i don't think she'l be able to keep up with all the treatments if she dont get a job soon!
Its an obsession,and if she dont get help soon,she'll end up looking as false as Jordan,with a very big debt!!

jordans good looking but shes overdone it too much . im not against palstic surgery or liposuctiion i wud have it done on myself but not to look like someone else, just to arrange a lil.

besides jordans make up is soo cakey put to her face. she has soo much make up . and dats no0t nice. im not saying not to put on make up but too much is like too less. i got out with make up everyday but i only put a lil concealor and blusher and dats it

I also agree she looks nothing like Jordan and for her mum to say its spending than spending her money on fags and booze, but it's hasn't been her money its done on loans and credit cards. What a shame!

Its a sad state of affairs in this country that young women idlolise a page 3 tart who takes her clothes off for money and their mothers show no control over their children - probably because most of them are single mothers.

In eastern europe the young girls idolise doctors and vets etc not plastic botoxed freaks like we do. They laugh at Britain and its obsession with freakdom and celebrity.

Once again we aspire to the medicore in this country and produce nothing of worth anymore ; our once great industrial nation has been laid waste , we have a bone idle youth whos greatest aspirations are now to get on who wants to be a millionaire , pop idol or become a d-list celeb - how sad for the once GREAT britain no more.

Her mother says 'at least ahe's not spending her money on fags and booze', the point is she is not spending 'her' money, she's spending money she doesn't have, debts that will far out last the the results of the surgery.

Also she sees glamour modelling as an easy way to get rich/famous quick, I'm sure if she suggested to Katie Price that her fame and fortune came quick and easy she would be insulted!

She shouldn't be at all suprised by her £30,000 debt as these surgical procedures need to be paid for and money doesn't come out of thin air so now, sweetheart, guess what - you now need to find a way to pay off the debts you've got yourself into by trying to enhance your features.

This girl is wasting her time she will never be like Jordan, Jordan has a special personality and business head that as well as her looks has got her where she is today. She has a huge empire which includes, lingerie,books,perfume that is worth millions and she has taken over 10 years to get where she is today, there are hundereds of well known glamour girls out there who will never even get into Jordans league. This girl is in for a shock when in 10 years time she is still in mountains of debt and still in the same position she is today, and her sheer desperation to be someone she is not will be a put off. Maybe she should try and build her own empire based on herself and her own looks and personality not someone elses.

She looked better in the "before" photo, and if that is a "professional" photo- sack your photographer ! she looks "chunky" and nothing like Jordan, there is no way she is a size 8 or anything near it! She looks big boned-naturally. £30k !!! she could have got a house for that, or certainly a big deposit, why don't these girls remember that surgery isn't a one off expense either, boob jobs need maintenance and changing in years time, I am sure by then her credit rating will have taken a nose dive!
I could understand a person that naturally looked like someone enhancing there looks to go into the business, but not changing completely, after all it still would just be a job.

Sink02003 i agree with your comment about the youth of today only aspireing to become a d-list celeb,becoming a glamour model etc,but what has single mothers got to do with it?
Just because someone might be a single mother does not mean they are tarts!
Anyone can become a single mother through no fault of their own,their husband could have cheated,could have been violent etc and the mother chose to get out!

jordan is a leader and does not follow yet MOST OF HER fans seem quite weak and not strong like the women herself

The woman's deluded. She looks nothing like Jordan. Why do so many people aspire to be something or someone they can't be, what's wrong with just being happy with yourself. Jordan's living proof that vanity, insecurity and obsession is not attractive. She may be able to change her appearance but her attitude will always remain, therefore no matter how much surgery she endures, she'll never be happy.

Hahaaaa and suppose you know all bout life that there is to know. People are just telling her to get real and wake up to the fact that she wont look like jordan no matter how much money she spends. Its not just her but to anyone out there aspiring to look like someone else. She is a pretty girl who has wasted all that money that she could have put to better use. It annoys me that people spend spend spend money that they dont have and never will have then cry that they are in debt. I dont own a credit or store card and have no desire to because i know i cant afford to pay it back. If i want something i save up for it and if i still cant afford it then tough.
