Kerry Katona Kerry Katona

'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Monday 26 January 2009

Despite famously having £15,000-worth of plastic surgery in August, Kerry Katona still isn’t entirely happy with her new size 8 body.

The mum-of-four was horrified when she returned from holiday last week to see photos in the papers of her topless on a Spanish beach in a silver bikini with her husband Mark Croft.

The snaps clearly showed the scars and lumpy tissue underneath her breasts, which are the result of her boob reduction and lift from 36GG to 36DD.

A source told Closer: “Kerry was in real shock when she saw the scars because she’d never seen them look so obvious in a photo before.

“She told pals: ‘I’m always looking at my boobs from the head down so I’ve never really noticed them. I was warned there’d be marks, but not protruding lumps!’”

But Kerry’s plastic surgeon Stephen Hamilton says the former Atomic Kitten has nothing to worry about. Stephen explains: “Breast surgery scars can take a long time to settle – six to 12 months. Kerry’s current scars are what I’d expect at this time. And it’s probably improving all the time. She looks amazing.

“I’d suggest massaging the scars – there are special creams for this. Occasionally when the scars settle, which takes a year, they may need minor readjustments.”

But 5ft 3 Kerry – who’s dropped from 12st to 8st 7lbs in just a few months – wants perfect breasts and is determined to get the problem sorted.

A pal revealed: “Kerry’s going to make an appointment to see a plastic surgeon as soon as possible. Mark’s told her that her scars are hardly noticeable, but she still wants to go ahead.”

And celebrity plastic surgeon Alex Karidis says Kerry may benefit from scar revision surgery. He says: “If the scars are still there six months after surgery, they will always be there and are referred to as ‘dog ears.’

“The only way to get rid of these is to have scar revision surgery, which can be done under local anaesthetic. It involves cutting and extending the scars to flatten the knobbly bits of skin back in.”

Kerry – who’s mum to Molly, seven, Lilly-Sue, five, Heidi, one, and Max, nine months – has made a huge effort to transform her body since having plastic surgery, which included having two litres of fat removed by liposuction.

Closer reported last week how Kerry now works out twice a week for an hour with her personal trainer Scott Wright and is trying to stick to a healthy-eating regime.

But pals now fear fragile Kerry – who was recently hit with a new £380,000 tax demand after being declared bankrupt last August – may have reverted to her bad habits while on holiday in Spain.

“Kerry’s been eating junk food again, and she said she couldn’t bear to eat any more healthy food like chicken as she felt she was turning into one. She was also drinking shots with Mark the other night,” added an insider.

According to sources, Mark is not giving Kerry – who suffers from bipolar disorder – the full support she needs to beat the high-profile drug and alcohol problems she’s had over the years. Last March she spent five days in London’s rehab centre The Priory. She’s also admitted to being an alcoholic.

A source said: “Mark doesn’t help his wife avoid her past weaknesses or demons and nobody wants to see her in rehab.

“She’s still determined to make their relationship work and is hoping Mark will do something special for their second wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day. But he’s so broke at the moment, she’ll probably end up buying something for herself.”

But insiders hope Kerry will get her new healthy lifestyle back on track when she goes to film a new reality show in the US – like her former pal Jordan – next month.

A friend revealed: “Kerry’s looking forward to making a fresh start in the US and hopes she’ll make enough money to pay off her taxes.

“She’s got a lot riding on her trip and doesn’t want to slip up. She wants to be taken seriously career-wise and not
be continually seen as a joke.”

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

I can understand Kerry wanting to correct the lumps caused by scar tissue,i had to have plastic surgery on my lip after having a bike accident that split my lip in half, after having it sewn back together it left a lump on my lip, after complaining to my doc he refared me for plastic surgery on the NHS,and i must say i only had to wait six weeks and they made a great job, cant even tell it was split open!
If the lumps are making her insecure id sugest she speaks to her GP and save some cash by having it done on the NHS!

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

And please tell me why we should pay for her plastic surgery on the NHS - she wanted the implants in the first place! I resent my hard earned cash being spent on some little hasbeen's cosmetic surgery - if she can afford to live the life she does then she can pay for it herself. She got MTV to pay for the last lot anyway. And if Mark is so skint then maybe this mumper should look for a job - now there's a novel idea!!

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Another thing - if she's been hit by another £380k tax bill well - she must have had the money to owe the money - obviously just frittered away on booze and drugs and the high life and keeping a deadbeat husband.

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

I thought i'd give Kerry some tips seeing as she's skint and were in a credit crisis!! ; )
Now im not kerry's biggest fan, she's brought on alot of her problems herself and i for one totally agree about her dick head of a husband, and yes she chose to have all the surgery, but i hate to say this but when she has been "working" i imagine she paid her taxes therefore she's entiltled to NHS treatment!
My sister and best friend chose to have boob jobs, paid for by theirselfs through working hard, and if anything went wrong then they'd be entilitled to free treatment on the NHS,just because you can afford private health care doesn't mean you shouldn't have NHS treatment!
Anyway with abit of luck MTV might do a doc about scars and pay for the corrective surgery!

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Sorry, but anybody choosing to carve their body up privately should not expect the NHS to correct the scars. Why can't they pay privately for that as well? The money she has paid into the NHS can be put to more life-saving use. Other people have worked also and paid into the NHS but have been turned down for cosmetic surgery as minor as having one varicose vein removed so why should she have her, in her eyes, ugly scars removed on the NHS.?

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Example...My friend didn't have any bust what-so-ever,it got her down everyday from her teens into her early 30's,she was depressed, almost went anorexic, stopped going out,her GP told her she couldn't have a boob job on the NHS so she worked hard and saved like mad,(and paid taxes) until she could afford to pay for the op.
It changed her life, and probably saved it too!
She didn't "carve" her body up for nothing, she had the op because she was depressed.
Now if anthing happend to her new boobs, that needed urgent treatment, why should she pay herself when she's worked all her life and paid into the system?
Thats why we pay taxes,so if we need hospital treatment,we can (sometimes) get it.
The NHS is in a state at the mo,and thats because the government have cocked up,they give out money to the wrong people who dont need it,when it could be going into the NHS for treatment for ops etc for people who have worked hard all their life, like my friend!
She had no choice but to pay privately,(although it just about broke her)but if she could of got it on the NHS she would have.
The NHS give druggies free perscriptions to make them happy, its all wrong!

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Yes, Clarabella, I sympathise with your friend who should have had her boob job on the NHS in the first place as they are meant to do it on the NHS if it causes psychological problems. But I dont class Kerry Katona's scars as an operation gone wrong. I have seen those scars in a paper and they're no different to what anyone would expect after having a breast reduction and honestly don't look that bad. She expects a perfect body with no scarring but isn't going to get that. I have worked and paid into the NHS and after having several children I could do with a similar opeation but know for a fact that the NHS wouldn't pay for it and would not expect them to as there are more urgent things they should spend the money on, not Kerry's scars. I have seen women who have had tummy tucks on the NHS and privately and they have really nasty looking scars which the NHS are not going to do anything about. Most operations like that just make you look better in your clothes and people shouldn't expect a flawless body afterwards and if that's what they want , sorry, they should pay for it themselves as they will never be happy anyway - Jordan's an example of that.

Sassy1, maybe Kerry should think about these people you are talking about - people living in terrible pain, starving to death or living to survive from day to day.

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Sassy1,my friends boobs are as fake as your story!!
And she's getting on with her life just great, she's full of life and is very happy with her new bangers, thanks for asking!
You seem to know alot about the priory and mental issues...umm wonder why???????????????????
Anyway,EVERYBODY has a right to hospital treatment, for whatever reasons if they have lived and worked in this country and paid into the system, its a fact!..yes sometimes people may have to wait longer than others, and its not fair,i agree, but if the govrnment woke up to the millions of scrounging bas***ds that drain the system dry then maybe there wouldn't be people waiting for months for various treatments!

I agree Kerry's op to correct her scars isn't that important, and she probably would be told by her GP that it isn't going to be done on the NHS anyway, but if it was (i doubt it though) then she'd obviously be entiltilled to free treatment, however long she had to wait!

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

kerry shud spend more time correcting the harm she has done to those children of her's rather than spending thousands on surgery. those children have gone through enough in their life, maybe she shud put her children first rather than herself? most celebs should do the same. JORDON for one, as she exploits her children to boast her income.

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

I can understand Kerry wanting to get her boobs fixed if they wern't done properly in the first place. She should go back to the clinic and complain, then maybe she might get them fixed for free.
And i agree with Rachael,if sassy1 cant play nicely then she shouldn't say anything at all! People have different opinions, and? that doesn't give you the right to slag people off for it.
If you dont agree with Clarabella (& personally i see were she's coming from) you could have worded it differently.Stop trying to cause an argument out of nothing.
Peoples opinions,end of!

Why don't we get back to the story at hand? Just got a couple of things i'd like to add. Kerry Katona's a complete waste of space and who really cares, and SASSY1, try using punctuation, it makes ranting comments like yours so much easier to read.

RE: 'I want more surgery to fix my scars!'

Unfortunately its a fact there are some very weird, very disturbed,ill-bred immature imbeciles of this world with over imaginary braincells that cant have an adult conversation without trying to cause offence to others!
These people thrive on the fact they disrespect and mock others and quite frankly make themselfs look and sound quite rediculous, but ,if thats all they know, then i suppose they cant help themselfs!
I suppose we should have nothing but empathy really, but then i suppose these obnoxious people have to get by somehow!
So sad when people cant get on in life and join in adult conversations without sounding like a spoilt little brat!
