Celebrity Diet Secrets: Sheree Murphy
Monday 16 February 2009
Actress Sheree Murphy, 33, tells us what’s in her fridge
Where do you shop?
Sainsbury’s, Marks & Spencer and my local butcher’s. I spend about £250 a week, but I do have a big family – my husband [footballer Harry Kewell, 30] eats a lot and we have three children, Taylor, seven, Ruby, five, and Matilda, nearly one.
What’s your typical daily diet?
I have cereal for breakfast, a tomato and avocado salad for lunch and spaghetti Bolognese or chicken fajitas for dinner. I buy puddings for the kids, but don’t eat them myself if I’m on a diet, which seems to be all the time!
What food do you refuse to eat?
I hate the smell of pork when it’s cooking. And I can’t stand corned beef – it looks like cat food!
Which three foods would you take to a desert island?
Rice – I could live on it – Cristal champagne and lasagne with chips!
What is your favourite drink?
Champagne – Harry once bought me a fridge containing 200 bottles of Cristal! I also drink Diet Coke twice a day.
What is your favourite comfort food?
Sausage and mash with home-made onion gravy is the best!
Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says
“Sheree’s diet contains a good balance of salads, complex carbs and lean protein sources. But although she’s cut out calorie-laden treats, she needs to watch portion sizes of her favourite meals – lasagne and chips contains quite a lot of fat. She should also cut back on Diet Coke, as fizzy drinks contain acids that can cause tooth erosion.”
