Dani Behr Celebrity Diet Secrets: Dani Behr

Celebrity Diet Secrets: Dani Behr

Monday 23 February 2009

I’m A Celebrity star Dani Behr, 34, tells us what’s in her fridge

Where do you shop?
In my local supermarket in Sydney, where I currently live. I easily spend £1,000 a month there. But when I’m in the UK, I love going to Marks & Spencer and Tesco.

What is your typical daily diet?
For breakfast I’ll have All-Bran with fruit and green tea. Lunch will be whatever my daughter Coco, three, and 18-month-old son Zane are having, so cheese and ham sandwiches or pasta. For dinner, I’ll cook something like chicken casserole. I don’t really snack, except on the kids’ leftovers!

What’s your top diet tip?
Drink fizzy water with meals – it fills you up, so you eat less. Also, stick to the “no carbs after 7pm” rule.

Is there anything you refuse to eat?
I can’t eat goat’s cheese – it smells like sick – and coriander makes me throw up. I don’t like lemongrass either – it reminds me of air freshener!

Which three foods would you take to a desert island?
Sushi, tuna tartare and chocolate. I absolutely love chocolate and could eat a giant bar of Cadbury’s Whole Nut in one go!

What’s your favourite drink?
A lychee caipirinha cocktail. One alone can get me drunk!

Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:

“Dani’s diet is balanced and convenient enough to suit her busy life. There is a mistaken belief that eating carbs late in the evening is bad for you, but this isn’t true – if Dani just watches her portion sizes and chooses less processed carbohydrates – such as brown rice and pasta – she could actually add nutritional value to her evening meals.”

Fridge health rating: 8/10
