Gail Porter, 37, tells us what’s in her fridge
Where do you shop?
Tesco, Waitrose or Marks & Spencer – they’re all near where I live.
How much do you spend on food?
Around £60 a week unless I’m also cooking for my boyfriend [cameraman James Lloyd, 33].
What is your typical daily diet?
Breakfast is miso soup in winter, or natural yoghurt and fruit in summer. For lunch I have vegetable soup with pitta bread, and then for dinner, it’s usually something like fish and veg.
Do you ever diet?
I sometimes detox, but I don’t really diet. It’s better to eat healthily all the time.
What’s your favourite comfort food?
I love rice cakes with loads of Marmite, or lentil soup.
What’s your must-have ingredient?
Spicy Thai tom yum paste makes everything taste delicious. I also like to have a bottle of champagne in – it’s my favourite drink.
What’s your most memorable meal?
It was on holiday in the Maldives with James. We ate on the beach, surrounded by candles and had wonderful freshly caught fish.

Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:
“Gail chooses high-fibre wholegrains like brown rice over the more refined versions and eats lots of veggies, which are packed with nutrients and antioxidants and great for the skin and digestion. Salmon is a good source of essential fatty acids and excellent for the heart. There’s no need for Gail to detox when she eats this healthily.”
