Maintain your weight loss after dieting!

Tuesday 10 March 2009
After shedding a whopping 4st last year in a head-to-toe body transformation, Kerry Katona looked like a brand new woman!

However, after shedding the pounds so quickly, Ms Katona is now desperately trying to keep it off – and struggling.

A source said of the former Atomic Kitten: “She’s desperately trying to work it off, but it’s not easy. Because she lost weight so fast the first time, it’s hard to keep the weight off now she’s eating more normally.

“Kerry’s found it hard to stick to her strict diet and has been having the odd treat. The trouble is because she was being so disciplined before, the fact she’s relaxed things is really showing on her figure.”

Sound familiar?

Closer Online know EXACTLY where you’re coming from.

And in light of which, we feel it is as important-as-ever to highlight the difficulties of keeping off the pounds after dramatically shedding them - and exactly what to do to avoid them in the first place!

It’s a well known fact – for many dieters, losing weight in the first place is only half the battle!

This is especially common when you lose too much weight too fast. This form of dieting can make you feel deprived and ultimately may end up causing binges that continue until the pesky weight creeps back on again.

It is important to find a healthy lifestyle that allows you to keep the weight at bay after you’ve put so much hard work into dieting in the first place…..

* Eat breakfast! – A healthy, hearty breakfast will stop you munching on mid-morning snacks, as well as kick start your metabolism and energy for the rest of the day!

* Eat three meals a day! – Skipping meals has an adverse effect – you’ll just get even hungrier and resort to mid-meal snacking….

* When you get hungry…eat! – Excessive hunger can lead you to over eat. Not great by any stretch of the imagination!

* Watch your portion sizes – Don’t eat until you’re stuffed! Eat until you’re satisfied…

* Maintain exercise alongside your healthy eating plan – Choose activities that you enjoy and mix it up regularly to prevent getting bored! Opt for aerobic exercise such as walking, running, swimming or cycling which will increase muscle tone and burn calories!

* Drink water – About eight glasses a day if we’re being precise! Drinking water really helps out alongside a healthy lifestyle. Basically a well hydrated body enables it to function efficiently. Drinking plenty of water will make us feel more energetic and boosts our metabolic rate.

* Weigh yourself regularly – Keep a close eye on your progress so you can effectively monitor any changes you need to be making!

* Get rid of the junk food – Clean out your cupboards! During your moment of weaknesses you do not have to worry about reaching for those naughty treats!

* Plan ahead – This little trick of the trade allows you to forward plan, and avoid picking up any unnecessary takeaways!
