Charlotte Church with daughter Ruby Charlotte Church

'Stop being a diet bully!'

Monday 16 March 2009

She gave birth to her son Dexter Lloyd just two months ago, but singer and presenter Charlotte Church is already under pressure from her boyfriend Gavin Henson to get back in shape.

Insiders say 5ft 5 Charlotte is struggling to exercise, and she finds working out on her Power Plate – which Gavin gave her last year to shift the 4st she put on while pregnant with her daughter Ruby – really painful.

But sources say Gavin is still telling Charlotte, 23, who’s a size 12 to 14, to stick to her gruelling workouts.

“Gavin is being quite tough on Charlotte and has told her to stick with her exercise routine,” said an insider. “He’s been desperately trying to motivate her, and plays Eminem songs to lift her mood during the sessions.

“Charl wants Gavin to be proud of her, but she doesn’t want to be pressured. While she knows Gav just wants the best for her, she’s becoming resentful of his advice. She’d rather get her exercise by pushing a pram on country walks, but Gav insists the gym is the way forward.”

Charlotte is said to have warned Gavin that she’ll shift the 3st she put on during her pregnancy with Dexter in her own time. But she’s becoming increasingly frustrated, and snapped after an especially gruelling workout, shouting:

“I just want to feel comfortable in my body. Get off my back!”

While expecting Dexter, Charlotte, whose daughter, Ruby Megan, is now 18 months old, gave in to cravings of apple pies, Chinese takeaways and crisps. But to help her get back down to a size 10, rugby star Gavin, 27, is closely monitoring her diet, as well as her exercise routine.

A source said: “Gav’s got Charl eating lots of chicken and steamed vegetables. He also wants her to cut down
on bread, junk food and fatty spreads like peanut butter.

“But she’s told him that her bland, tasteless diet, combined with all the hard exercise, makes her feel tired, lethargic and grumpy.”

And Charlotte thinks that Gavin, who plays for the Welsh rugby team, has an extreme attitude towards her fitness.

“Charlotte wants to please Gavin, but she thinks he’s starting to become fanatical about her health,” said a source.

“He forgets that she’s a singer, not a professional sportsman, when he tells her she should be training harder.”

RE: 'Stop being a diet bully!'

Its nice that Gavin is concerned about Charlottes health but he needs to back off and if she WANTS to lose weight she needs to do it in her own time. Im sure after having her child just two months ago thats the last thing on her mind. He should be concentrating on supporting her with the children rather than her appearance and being a size 12-14 after childbirth is hardly criminal.

RE: 'Stop being a diet bully!'

Another bloke that thinks he controls and owns his wife!!...
If he really loved her he wouldn't be putting pressure on her,for gods sake she's just had his baby, the weight will come off in her own time, and to be honest, its not like she's the size of a bus is it?!
And if she's breast feeding the last thing she needs is to get all anorexic.
It sounds to me that its all about image to him, what with his orange skin, and obcessive exercise! God knows what she see's in him,he looks like Des O'conners love child,if he want's a skinny, orange, tarted up model then i think he's with the wrong woman!

RE: 'Stop being a diet bully!'

Shouldn't he concentrate on his own health and stop going out, getting pissed and behaving like a silly little boy?
Talk about double standards.
