Jade is still fighting death

Brave Jade Goody is still clinging on to life as she faces her final hours.

The terminally ill 27-year-old was propped up in bed yesterday to take a last glimpse over the sun-drenched fields outside her home in Essex, before slipping into a deep sleep again.

Poignantly, the mum-of-two has asked her devastated mother, Jackiey Budden, not to let her two young sons see her die.

Bobby, five, and Freddie, 4, are staying with their father, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, because tragic Jade doesn't want her boys to witness her final moments.

Distraught husband Jack, 21, and Jade's mum are keeping a bedside vigil as the courageous star battles the cancer that is ravaging her body.

A family friend said: “Jack and Jackiey are waiting for the end. The boys may come over again if Jade wakes up, but she made it very clear she didn’t want them to see her die.

“Jade has always been strong and will be fighting even in her sleep. But her body has been ravaged and is now succumbing completely.

“But she’s at peace, in no pain and sleeping comfortably. Everyone’s grateful for at least this small mercy.”

Distrought Jackiey and Jack are said to be touched and comforted by the public's messages of support. Well-wishers keep dropping by Jade's home to leave flowers and messages of goodwill.

In a poignant message to her supporters, Jade said: "I hope I've given you lots of laughs to remember me by."
