Simon 'don't mince my words much' Cowell's interview with US chat show host Jay Leno is rapidly turning into a political minefield!
After telling the world that he was 'too busy' to meet Barack Obama for dinner, Si swiftly moved on to his next target - the Royal family!
The TV mogul claimed that he was offended when Prince Philip allegedly called him a “sponger”.
But that's not all: He also said the Queen embarrassed him in front of other stars by ignoring him at a backstage meet-and-greet last December.
Speaking of the royal snub Simon said: “It was actually embarrassing. The Queen came on at the end of the show and you have to say hello. She ignored me and then her husband called me a sponger.
"It was embarrassing, a bit awkward. I think he was trying to be rude.”
Buckingham Palace, shocked about Simon’s big mouth, was quick to deny the allegations. A palace spokesman said: “The Duke of Edinburgh categorically did not call Mr Cowell a sponger. Mr Cowell may have misheard the Duke, he has a very soft voice.”
Gosh, Simon, who will you take on next? Nelson Mandela? The Dalai Lama?

There's no doubt in my mind that Prince Phillip will have made some sort of out of order comment, just look at his track record, he's the king of gaffes. Loving Simon though.

The royals couldn't call anyone spongers because thats what they are. I love Simon Cowell but he has to realise not everyone has to speak to him.

I agree its definately the Royal family that are the spongers!! Simon has worked for his money which is more that they can say.
