Mercy meets her new family

Wednesday 01 April 2009

Four-year-old Mercy James was pictured with Queen of Pop Madonna for the first time yesterday as adoption arrangements were finalised.

Little Mercy – dressed in a blue dress – was seen smiling coyly as she held the hand of new big sis Lourdes, enjoying her first family outing.

Madge spent over an hour in Malawi’s High Court on Monday, when she told Judge Esme Chombo she would be a ‘deeply loving mother.’

The judge will give an official ruling on Friday – but 50-year-old Madonna has already been told that her application will be successfully processed.

A senior Malawian official yesterday told The Sun: “This is all very confidential, and Judge Chombo must still make her ruling – but that ruling will be in favour of Madonna.

“Madonna is a very good mother and ambassador for Malawi. She has improved the lives of thousands of orphans.”

Looks as though it’s all systems go for determined Madge.

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Nice to hear her money is being spent wisely in the hope of improving the lives of the less fortunate. I think she is a caring person under the surface. She will always be criticised no matter what she does. She may not be everyones cup of tea but personally I think shes great.

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Well thats what i expected, thay say money cant buy you love, but in Madonna's world it can buy you a child,i think she should be ashamed of herself, like i said before NO means NO in any lanuage and she was told NO twice by Mercy's family, but what Madonna wonts Madonna gets! SHE MAKE'S ME SICK!

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Yeh i agree tigerlilly,Maddonna's clicked her fingers and threw alot of money around and hey presto, she gets what SHE wants, doesn't matter what the little girls family want!
Just because she is famous,it does not make it right!

RE: Mercy meets her new family

If the little girls family wanted her then why was she living in an orphanage?

RE: Mercy meets her new family

She is living in an orphanage because her family are so poor they can't afford her and her grandparent's are too old to look after her! It happens in those country's because they are not educated enough on birth control,it still doesn't make it right for a rich celeb to throw her money and fame around to take the girl away from her beliefs and faiths! Madonna should be throwing her millions around on helping to build better places for these poor kids to stay, with a good education and lots of love and support from her own country, instead she'l take the girl away from her homeland,to a scary country (the states) and will be forced worship Madonna's beliefs,(David now wears the red bracelet). Yes the girl will have whatever she want's,but the poor girl will be so confused!

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Madonna founded an orphan school in Malawi so IS helping with education, and if her family can't afford and are too old to have Mercy living with them, there's only one person that suffers...... Mercy. Why shouldn't she be given the chance of loving, family home? Little David Banda hasn't suffered. She may be confused for a little while, but will eventually come to love being part of big, happy family and understand that Madonna and her other children are part of it..

RE: Mercy meets her new family

She'l be passed from pillar to post, between nanny's and god know's who while Madonna's off somewhere getting her lals out and acting like a teenager!...So much for a loving stable home!

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are always adopting, and fair enough they are a lot more discreet about it than Madonna, but they don't get the flak that Madonna does. She may go off on tour etc but no more than Brad or Ange would be filming their latest blockbuster. She'll have a series of round the clock nannies, but i'm sure that Madonna wouldn't leave her childtren with just anyone, they'll have probably built up huge trust with Madonna and i reckon will have been employed by her for a long tme because of this.

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Oh yeh Madonna's such a good role model, praticly getting naked for photo shoots, snogging other woman on stage, shagging a man young enough to be her son!!!!!!!! I could go on,but do me a favour, and dont compair her to angelina who dont do any of the above. That womans no saint just a bully!!!!!!!!

RE: Mercy meets her new family

Oh please, calm yourself down.
I seem to have this trouble with you Tigerlilly. AGAIN, had you read my comment PROPERLY you'd UNDERSTAND that i wasn't comparing Madonna and Angelina, just their situations. And did i say Madonna was a saint.....no, i don't think i did, and YOU do me a favour, cast your mind back a few months to when Angelina more or less owned up to the fact that her and Brad got together while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, yeah, she's a real saint isn't she!!!
If you were 50 years old and newly divorced, you're not telling me that if a young 20 odd year old model showed you interest you'd knock him back!!! You'd probably say yes, but i wouldn't believe any woman if they said this.

RE: Mercy meets her new family

I'm perfectly calm sarie 75,it seems to me that it's you who's getting a little hot under the coller!! If Madonna was adopting a child in america i'd say good on you girl, but, she's takeing little 4 year old mercy to a whole new culture,David was 2 he was too young to understand, but Mercy is at school age and will pine for what she knows.I'm sure she thinks she's doing the right thing but why does she go for children with a serviving parent, when there are so many completly alone? And as for sleeping with a 20 year old,no thanks i'm 41 and like my men to last ths distence.

RE: Mercy meets her new family

I tend not to get rattled by silly comments just because the writer of them doesn't agree with me, as you seemed to do in your post before last. You have your opinion and i have mine, it doesn't mean that one person's right and the other is wrong, These comments boxes are here for people to air their views and opinions, not to get all uppity with someone if they don't agree with you. There's nothing wrong with a good debate, if i don't agree with somebody i'll always try and put my point across in a well constructed manner so as not to cause offence and still maintaining respect for the other persons opinion. some people however, have a habit of trying to shout you down if you happen to disagree with them.

RE: Mercy meets her new family

You haven't offended me and you don't have to apologise. I get a bit passionate about something if i genuinly believe in it, but it 's certainly not something i'd want you to take personally. I apologise if you thought i was being argumentative, as this is not how i meant to come across, and it takes the bigger person to hold out an olive branch so maybe i need to take a leaf out of your book Tigerlilly. x
