'I want a baby in the next two years'

When it comes to her love life, Jennifer Ellison is the first to admit she hasn’t had the best luck.

Her boyfriend of six years Tony Richardson was abusive to her, and they split in 2007 after it was alleged he had cheated on her.   

But that’s all changed since she met her fiancée, boxer Robbie Tickle last year.

The pair have been dating since last March and Jennifer, 25, says she’s happier than ever – especially after he proposed in October.

She told Closer: “What I have with Robbie is totally different to my past relationships. He’s an amazing person who loves and supports me. I’ve never been so happy.”

“When he proposed we had just arrived in the Maldives on holiday after travelling for 24 hours. I was exhausted, but when we opened our hotel room door, the bed was strewn with rose petals and candles, and Robbie got down on one knee. It was so romantic!”

Ex-Brookside actress Jennifer met Robbie, 29, on a night out with friends last year, and the pair hit it off immediately.

But the former pin-up says that meeting Robbie has had one downfall.

5ft6 Jennifer - who is about to start touring the UK in the War Of The Worlds musical 30th anniversary playing the female lead Beth - says that since meeting her new man, she’s gone from a size 8 to a size 10.

“I enjoy food and good wine and Robbie and I love to cook together. I’ve put on a bit of weight since meeting him, but I don’t care, I’m happy.”

“I don’t want to be really skinny, it’s good to have curves. I would never diet!”

But despite her plans not to diet, Jennifer, says that she’s started exercising to get back in shape.

Her fiancée Robbie, who is a boxer, has been helping her by teaching her how to box.

“I wanted to get a personal trainer, but Robbie volunteered. I’ve been boxing with him and jogging. I haven’t lost weight but I’ve definitely toned up. I feel great!”

And the Hells Kitchen winner says that her healthy attitude to food is because of her desire to have children.

The actress admits she is already planning on having children with Robbie in the near future.

“I’m madly in love with Robbie. We can’t wait to have children together and want three! We want to have our first baby in the next two years.”

“But we need to get married first! Our wedding was planned for June but we had to cancel it because of my work commitments. It’ll be a low key celebration with all our loved ones.”
