Distressed Susan's meltdown revealed

Tuesday 02 June 2009

After Susan Boyle's shocking admission to the Priory clinic on Sunday sources have revealed that the Scottish singer had been acting strangely for days before the Britain's Got Talent final.

Allegedly SuBo, as the media have nicknamed the 48-year-old, had been overheard muttering to herself as if she was talking to another person - then introduced production staff and fellow contestants to an imaginary friend. She is also said to have left answerphone messages for her cat Pebbles because she thought the animal would miss her.

Psychologists believe that the singer felt lonely and stressed in an environment that was completely different from her normal life and developed these funny habits to help her cope with the pressure.

But Susan finally went into meltdown after she was beaten to the BGT crown by dance group Diversity. The singer reportedly ran down a corridor in just her bra, punching the walls and shouting at staff.

On Sunday, she spent the day curled up in her hotel room crying her eyes out. An insider revealed: "Susan couldn't stop crying and couldn't calm down. She worked herself into such a frenzy that she fainted. We knew we had to call a doctor to see her."

After being assessed and diagnosed with exhaustion, poor Susan was taken to the Priory for treatment. The distressed singer seemed distressed and confused on arrival and kept flapping her arms like a child, asking for her cat who she thought had been taken away from her.

Now a number of psychologists and industry experts have spoken out, saying that it was 'for the best' that SuBo didn't win the talent contest as she couldn't deal with the pressure of going from complete obscurity to international stardom in the blink of an eye.

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden said: "She has gone from a woman that nobody knew to worldwide fame. For anybody in the business to handle that kind of stress is an enormous amount of pressure. I think she probably just crumbled under it.

"She just needs some time to recuperate. It's probably a blessing she didn't win as it takes off the pressure. Perhaps now she can relax."

RE: Distressed Susan's meltdown revealed

It just shows what sort of world we live in when this story is headline news for TWO DAYS and is given priority over the disappearance of a plane and the goings on in parliament. How sad and pathetic is it any wonder that the world is the way it is today

She maybe a Drama Queen as you seem to think but it's a symptom of a terrible disease... SHE'S MENTALLY ILL - Nothing to laugh at there!

WHY didn't the people responsible (BGT have a 'Duty of Care' to these people) notice that she was so obviously struggling with the whole ordeal and pull the bloody plug before - instead of after - the event???
I read a psychologists report on the net before Saturday that said her strange 'wiggling' and flirting was "like a child sexualising itself" etc. Her own brother said that she has a "personality disorder", "Learning difficulties" & mild brain damage from oxygen deprivation at birth... This 'Meltdown' was an accident waiting to happen & should never have been allowed (remember also the traumatised 10 year old with the 'Stage School Mommy' - who wasn't equipped to deal with the pressure) It's all nothing more than throwing Christians to the lions or watching the 'Lunatics' at Bedlam!

Poor cow. If it aint the press on her case its a lot of arrisses with comments like, get over yoursel pet. She is aware that the only thing to love her for herself is the blooming cat. All the others are only after the money. Good luck to her & I hope she gets better soon. Natural people like her are few & far between.

RE: Distressed Susan's meltdown revealed

Why doesn't this woman just go back to Peebles the Cat. They are all saying that she is mentally exhausted because of all she has been through and is feeling vulnerable.

Utter rubbish. She was showing signs of not being quite the full ticket at the original audition. What was with all that wiggling and stomping her feet - big clue I think!

Had she won she would have been just fine. Because she didn't, it smacks of a woman of a certain age throwing a hissy fit. she bought into all her own publicity and was certain she was going to win - it didn't happen and thank goodness for that. She has the makings of a massive prima donna.

Why does she also feel the need to lift her dress at every opportunity and show her legs? Put them away.
