X Factor's new format goes live
Monday 29 June 2009
The first live X Factor auditions took place in London yesterday, with 2,000 fans turning out to watch the show’s new format.
Judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh took a back seat and watched hundreds of wannabes strut their stuff at London’s ExCel centre.
Bosses decided to replicate the buzz they created on Britain’s Got Talent. A show insider said: “It felt more like a concert.”
The new try-outs took place the same day producers announced that contestants who had passed the first auditions in Glasgow would have to re-audition.

The Glasgow auditions had taken place earlier this month in the traditional format, with the new rule to host them in front of a live audience only being announced last week.
We bet those Glaswegian contestants aren’t feeling too peed off right now! Oops!
Yep! The new ‘live audience’ format means those who got through at the Glasgow auditions on June 8th will have to go through the nerve-wracking process again!
Meanwhile, ITV2’s Xtra Factor host Holly Willoughby looked stunning despite giving birth just six weeks ago!
Hands up – who’s excited!?

Can't wait for the X factor to return, had huge withdrawal symtoms when BGT ended so this is something for me to get my teeth into, (yes, i am sad, but at least i haven't sunk to the depths of BB watching.....yet.)
