Celebrity Diet Secrets: Margherita Taylor
Tuesday 23 June 2009
Radio DJ Margherita Taylor, 37, tells us what’s in her fridge
Where do you shop?
My local Waitrose has a car park so it’s handy for a big shop.
How much do you spend?
About £50-£60 a week.
What’s your daily diet?
I have berries with yoghurt and ginger tea before I leave the house. Then I’ll have porridge at work and snack on fruit during the show. For lunch I’ll have chicken salad and more fruit. Dinner is soup, then more yoghurt and berries.
Do you ever diet?
Not really - but now it’s the start of summer I’ve gone on a bit of a health kick.
What’s your “can’t live without” ingredient?
Ginger - I always have some in the fridge to grate into food or a cup of hot water.
Which three foods would you take to a desert island?
I’d take a jar of Marmite – I’ve always loved it! Other than that I’d take ginger and avocados.
What’s your favourite drink?
Working in studios dehydrates you, so I drink tons of water. I love ginger or mint teas, and have a glass of champagne if I’m celebrating.
Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:
“Margherita is following a detox regime, including lots of fruit, vegetables and water. Her diet is ideal for anyone on a health kick. Ginger has long been heralded as a digestive aid and it may also help to boost your immune system, so it’s a great spice to use. Avocado is a superfood containing monounsaturated fatty acids, great for heart health.”
FRIDGE HEALTH RATING: 9/10
