Socialite Tamara Beckwith, 38, tells us what’s in her fridge
Where do you shop and what do you spend?
I live in central London so I get things as I need them. I try to support my local shops, rather than the big supermarkets. I spend £50-£100 a week.
What’s your typical daily diet?
Porridge and rice milk for breakfast, Actimel yogurt mid-morning with fennel tea, then a salad, quiche, soup or cold chicken for lunch. I have dinner with my husband [Italian construction heir Giorgio Veroni] - something like baked salmon and veg, with a big salad. I only have desserts on holiday! I keep snacks like raisins and Fab lollies in the freezer to crunch on.
Do you ever diet?
When I lived in LA, I followed the Zone Diet but soon got bored. I rarely have the dedication to stick to a diet long-term.
Anything you refuse to eat?
Oysters, they’re disgusting!
Which three foods would you take to a desert island?
Tomatoes, caviar and French bread.
What’s your favourite comfort food?
Anything with baked beans - eggs, beans and toast, yummy!
What’s your favourite drink?
Water, juice and cordials - and champagne
Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:
“Tamara has a great all-round diet: a high-fibre breakfast, lots of vegetables, lean protein and low-calorie snacks like raisins, which have a sweet taste that can satisfy even the strongest cravings for chocolate. The disappointing dieting experiences she has had in the past have shaped her attitude to healthy eating now, so she doesn’t need a set ‘diet.’”
