'I can't wait to marry Britain's worst dad'

Just the mention of his name is enough to strike fear into the hearts of some women, but Clare Bryant thinks she’s struck gold with fiancé Keith MacDonald.

Closer’s followed the story of the notorious love rat for several years, as he broke the hearts of seven women and abandoned seven babies. But now the 24 year old – nicknamed the Sunderland Shagger – claims he’s turned over a new leaf.

“He swears he’s changed and I believe him,” says Clare, 20, who’s been dating Keith for five months.

Keith – who lost his virginity aged 10 – adds: “When I got with Clare I was downing 12 cans of lager a day. Now I’ve quit booze, and am looking for a job. I’ll never stray again.”

But it’s certainly not the first time Keith – who’s dad to Jamie Leigh, nine, Kady, seven, Angelis, six, Brandon, five, Matt, three, Emily, two, and one-year-old Clio – has made that claim, as the mothers of his seven children know only too well.

And Keith’s baby trail costs taxpayers tens of thousands a year, because all the mums are on benefits.

Clare says: “I’d heard about his kids and reputation. When I first met him three years ago, I could see the attraction. He’s very sexy, with piercing blue eyes.

“He was with his girlfriend Stacey at the time and I was so jealous. I really wanted him.”

In March this year, Clare bumped into her crush at Sunderland bus station.

It was 4pm, and unemployed Keith, who says buses are the best places to pull, was swigging from a can of lager.
“He asked me out,” says Clare. “He was drunk, but knew what he was doing, so I said yes.”

Three days later, the couple boarded a bus to Middlesbrough for their first date. She says: “He didn’t have any money after walking out on his trolley-collecting job in January, so I got us lunch from Greggs.

“He told me he didn’t see any of his kids any more, but I wasn’t bothered. I was more concerned about the drinking, or if he might cheat. Keith said he was a new man though, and I thought he deserved a chance.

“My mum and stepdad told me I was an idiot. They didn’t think he’d change and told me not to let him get me pregnant.”

Although Clare insists they took things slowly, she also admits they had unprotected sex within days.

“He came to see me at the pub I was working in, and we got carried away out the back. We had sex without a condom – we couldn’t help ourselves,” she says.

The couple have never used protection, and now Clare says she wants two children with Keith, who admits he’s slept with nearly 40 women.

“After a few months I decided I’d like to have his babies, so there’s no point in using condoms now,” she says.

Keith doesn’t give a penny to his children, and claims “it became too much hassle” to keep in touch with them.

Clare says: “He does try to see his kids, but the mums won’t let him. Some people say he’s a bad dad – and as he doesn’t see his children, for all I know he might be! But I think he’d be brilliant with our child.”

One day in June, deciding she wanted to marry Keith, Clare spotted a £30 silver ring in a shop window. “I hinted that I liked it, and Keith knew what I meant,” she says.

A week later, Keith surprised Clare at work. She reveals: “I turned around and Keith was down on one knee.  He said: ‘So, do you fancy it?’ I agreed right away.” Shortly after, Clare left her job, as she “didn’t agree with the staff,” and moved out of her parents’ home and into Keith’s two-bed council house.

She says: “I can keep an eye on him now. We only go out to the pub twice a week, and Keith only has one or two pints.”

Keith adds: “Clare says if I go out with my mates I’ll just get myself into trouble, so I don’t mind staying in with her.”
Keith – who’s applying for joint benefits with Clare, which should be around £100 a week – leaves the taxpayer to pick up the estimated £60,000-a-year benefits bill for his seven children.

The pair claim they’re doing everything they can to find jobs.

“Every morning, I watch a few hours of telly, while Keith surfs the web,” says Clare. “Then we go around town, and every now and then pop in the Job Centre, but there’s never anything going. We’ll keep looking though, because we want to save for our wedding.”

Clare wants a big wedding, with all her friends and family present, an ivory dress and a venue filled with lilies.
“I want two or three bridesmaids, and I’d love a honeymoon too,” she says.

But she admits Keith’s reputation has led to them getting abuse on the street. Clare says: “We never see the other mums around, but other people used to shout, ‘There goes the Sunderland Shagger,’ or, ‘How many kids is it now?’

“But I think people expected me to get pregnant before now, so maybe they can see Keith has changed.”

Clare adds: “My mates used to tell me I was stupid for being with Keith. They just couldn’t see what I could see.

“Now they know I’m happy so they don’t say anything. They just let us get on with it.”

I'm unsure. you can never tell how a person is untill you meet them. You cant believe everything you read. i dont agree with her having sex with him within the first few days.... and unprotected.... i just, am baffled really.

I wish them no luck at all , they need a good reality check and possibly sterilisation, i work very hard at my full time job and if it wasn't for people like these perhaps my taxes would be going to the heroic fire fighters who save lives, the 18 yr old soldiers risking their lives in Iraq, or the nurses at my local hospital on about £6 an hr

A friend of mine has tried for 9 years to get pregnant by her partner of 15years, she has her own company and own home and has now paid privately for treatment to try to get the baby she craves so much, she would literally give her right arm for a child and to this stupid monster of a person his 9 children are too much hassle- one day those children will read that and never forgive their father- yes i say father he's simply a sperm donor not a dad

I'll forgive the mother of his first child she had no idea what he was like but what were the other 6 girls thinking, they must be insane, I'm a little embarrassed for them.

I think it might a good thing this sorry excuse for a man can't be bothered to see his 7 kids, what sort of example would he set them, they are better of without him & we would all be better off if him & the 6 women stupid enough to have sex with him got jobs.

I think this is disgusting, my dad has worked self employed for almost 30 years and at the age of 50 decided to work for a company because of the dwindling building trade and his age. 18 months into his job the company went bust nd my dad was unemployed, at the job centre which he went to the next day he was told he was entitled to NO benefits as he had been self employed and had saved too much money, which was his pension due to being self employed. No wonder the country is in such a mess when lazy good for nothing wasters like this are given benefits and supported left right and centre when those people who earn an honest living and work hard to support their families and give their children the best are left to suffer. While ever the government are making it easy for such idle people to do nothing but have children and drink to fill their days people will continue to do it and take advantage while the rest of us work long , hard days only to see a third of our wages supporting such cases. These people should get some self respect and morals,its a complete joke!

I am disgusted! i am in full time education training to be a adult nurse, thats like having a full time job AND i work 15 hours a week for NHS Direct, just so i can pay my rent and bills - im working hard and my taxes are paying for these 'people' are able to go to the pub twice a week! i cant remember the last time i had a night out, i know its my choice to better myself but its certainly not my choice to support this SCUM! Wow some people really do not have standards do they?? Im a mum of 2 with another on the way, My hubby who works for the NHS, works full time and does as much overtime as possible just so we can "survive" And yet they think its going to be all grand and fantastic raising a child on next to no money? Especially when he has how many kids (sorry ive lost count) If he's changed as much as she thinks he has then surely he would wait for more kids until he works?? My mum and dad, both grandparents, uncles, aunties, cousins have worked from the age they were legally allowed to and for what? To pay taxes for these benefit scrounging scum!

I am halfway through 4 A-levels, and also work as a model and a waitress. I am aiming to go to university to get a good well paid job so I can get a house with my boyfriend, then have children when I can afford it and when I have a stable career! yet these scum idiots get paid for doing f. all?!!!!!! No it isn't. Its 1 bus and costs about a fiver return.

Anyone who thinks a guy who askes you out while pi55ed (at 4 in the afternoon) in a bus station and can't afford 55p for a sausage roll from Greggs on your first date has VERY low standards and just as little self worth.
At least they can be losers together and save two other people from being with them.

Although I agree with most of the comments on here,I would like to know how some of you got your own jobs; as nobody seems to be able to spell properly,or indeed, use punctuation.What is this country coming to when the workforce are practically illiterate!
I am currently unemployed, yet I can spell and punctuate correctly,and I am definately not lazy.However, I can't find employment, does that make me 'chavvy' scum?

I delibarately punctuated my previous comment erronously.I wonder if anyone can spot the deliberate mistakes? It's all in good fun, don't all shoot me down at once. Laugh out loud!

Elizabeth, I think your attempt at correcting people’s grammar is patronising and incorrect, you yourself have made mistakes all the way through this passage which makes you a hypocrite. Get a job and learn to think before acting child. All this built up aggression isn’t good for anyone!

It was all tongue in cheek and if you look at my comment above yours, slinkysponge, it says that I made mistakes on purpose to see if anyone noticed.As for me getting a job,I now have one as of next Monday.So after four weeks of being unemployed, I now will be able to start paying taxes to help Clare and Keith and all the others like them.I would also like to say thankyou to them because if it wasn't for people like them I wouldn't have my new job. I'm going to be working in the Job Center helping people get their benefits!

hahaha lmfao, looks like all the good advice has fell on deaf ears folks, there was a 2 page spread on the serial shagger in yesterdays sun newspaper. He's only went and got her up the duff and ran off claiming the child is not even his. I managed to find his personal facebook profile and because we have mutual friends of friends I could read the comments on his wall, it was comical. About 2 months ago Clare was arguing with baby momma number 3 telling her to leave him alone and claiming he was currently satisfying her (puke). Further up the page there's an argument between Clare and the baby daddy. She was suprised that he was calling her an ex (he must have forgot to tell her) and telling him she only wanted to see him for a night because his status said she never let him go out. He replied saying she's crap in bed and that the baby she's carrying isn't even his. I'll put the link to the suns article below, if it doesn't show go to google and search "8 kids by 8 girls". Oh and apparently it was her who went to the newspaper because she wanted to make him look bad lmfao what a stupid little girl.

She was after him when he already had girlfriend. That is a poor excuse. She must be a sly dog. Well her apparently "changed" boyfriend is now a good guy. No. Let me tell you. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Is she that niave that she thinks she can change him? Well what a waste of time that will be. A cheating man never changes. No matter what you say. He may marry her, but what's to say he won't be going with other women behind her back? Wedding vows won't register into that cheap waste of a "man". A £30 ring? £30? That just goes to show how much he really "cares", which obviously isn't much. What i want to know is what both their mums and dads think of them marrying each other. Their parents must be just as gormless, as they ain't stopping them. There i was thinking ALL parents cared for their kids.
