Rebecca Ford: Week two!
Tuesday 01 May 2012
"I have had a really positive week this week! I am starting to feel better every day - even getting out of bed in the mornings is becoming easier! I have lost the sluggish feeling that I had before I started the Closer Diet.
That said though, I can't help but feel a little disappointed that I have only lost 0.5 lb this week, especially when I didn't cheat once! But, I have decided I am not going to be disheartened - my clothes are starting to feel much more comfortable and so, even if the scales aren't showing much of a difference, my body is definitely feeling it!
I was really surprised this week by just how much I have enjoyed exercising! I am trying to incorporate some into everyday - even if it is just walking to pick my girls up from school rather than taking the car or walking at a faster pace - and it seems to be working. I went out on four runs this week too and each one felt (slightly) easier. I went out with my friend on Monday which was great, she paced me well, allowing me to walk when I needed to but encouraging me on to ‘get to the next lamp post’ too!
Work commitments meant that my next one was on my own but I managed to make it around the route with T’Pau on my Ipod (nothing like a power ballad from the 80s to keep you going!)
I've tried to incorporate fitness into my family life too - on Saturday, instead of driving to our allotment, we walked, ran and cycled there! I ran as much as I could of the cycle path with my oldest daughter on her bike and my youngest not that far behind. It's a five mile round trip and I was proud of us all.
My husband joined us too and it was a lovely feeling to arrive there at 10.00am feeling charged and ready to go (also made bedtime very easy on Saturday night with 2 understandably tired little girls). Cerys - my eldest daughter - has asked if we can do it every Saturday though so it just shows how much she enjoyed it! See pic!

I have really enjoyed my meals this week - they have been very filling and I've not felt hungry at all.
It has been a busy week which included a work trip to Glasgow which is a long day (giving me opportunity to think about food more) but I planned and prepared which I now know is the key! After a training session we had a work lunch but I made a choice of a prawn salad without dressing and really enjoyed it.
Sunday mornings are spent with my friends - our daughters all dance together - and typically, we would go to the pub for breakfast where bacon sandwiches always make an appearence, but, this week I decided to have my breakfast before we left and joined everyone for a cup of tea. My friends then decided to opt for just hot drinks too which was really supportive of them!
Although, I haven't felt hungry at all this week - it didn't stop me thinking about chocolate Friday teatime! I won the battle in my mind though and left it alone. I went out on Friday night to an event but took the car which took away any of the usual alcohol temptations and on Saturday night I replaced my usual glass of wine with a vodka and diet coke to cut back on calories - this is getting easy now!
So, despite being a little disappointed by the low weight loss this week, I am going to keep strong and stay on the plan. I can’t believe I how much I have enjoyed exercising - it looks like I've experienced that ‘high’ for the first time in my life and I intend to try even more this week!
This week my aim is to attend an exercise class of some form and try more fruit! Wish me luck!
