Stacey McKeever, 28, lost a stone in just ten weeks and has more energy than ever
"I started putting on weight in college. Without prepared lunches made for me by my parents, I was left completely to my own devices and most of the time I would make the wrong food choices. Fizzy drinks, chips and chocolate were an every day occurrence for me.
I was always a size 12-14 but since giving birth to my two children, Olivia, 8, and Jessica, 6, I went up to a 16-18. I joined slimming groups in the past along with taking on fad diets, like eating only once a day and replacing meals with shakes, but to no avail. I would lose weight, start eating normally again and I was aware my children were starting to pick up on my snacking habits.
I’ve always been a fan of Closer and would often read up on the celebs that have lost weight and transformed their lives and so, when Closer announced that they were looking for real life dieters on their Facebook page, I applied straight away!
Before starting the plan I would skip breakfast, meaning I would snack on chocolate and crisps until my lunch where I would have indulge in a chicken, bacon and mayonnaise wrap. Dinner would consist of hearty dishes like spaghetti bolognaise plus I would never go without pudding. My diet was making me feel lethargic resulting in me reaching for quick energy fixes such as chocolate; I was stuck in a vicious circle.
After just a week on the Closer diet I dropped 3lbs which was a great morale boost. Best of all, I was still able to eat the things I wanted like chicken fajitas (which was my daughters favourite) and pasta. I was even allowed the odd glass of wine!
Doing the plan i was nervous that I'd suddenly be thought of as the ‘boring one’ when I went out for meals with friends, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The Closer Diet was so flexible I was still able to enjoy my nights out without going off track - instead of ordering a burger and chips or lasangne, I would order a ceasar salad with the dressing on the side (and enjoy it!)
I managed to lose a stone in just ten weeks, which was amazing, but what’s more is the amount of energy I have now. I honestly feel like I could run a marathon and I barely even snooze my alarm these days!
The best thing about my time with Closer Diets is the fact that my whole family have benefitted from my healthier choices. It’s really important that I get my children into a healthy frame of mind and since I’ve been on the diet, they have enjoyed snacking on fruit as opposed to chocolate!
I still have a little way to go before I get to my target weight of 10st 7lbs but I know I’ll get there - thanks Closer!”
