Actress Lisa Maxwell, 45, tells us what’s in her fridge
Where do you shop and why?
Waitrose, as the quality of the meat and fish is so fantastic.
How much do you spend?
A weekly shop probably comes in at about £200.
What’s your typical daily diet?
I’m a three-meals-a-day kind of girl, as if I don’t eat regularly I turn psycho! So I’ll start the day with muesli or a skinny Starbucks muffin. Lunch will be a salad, and then dinner is usually something like fish with rice and vegetables.
Do you ever diet?
No, I steer clear of faddy diets, but I do keep a tight control on my portion sizes and I avoid junk food.
Which three foods would you take to a desert island?
Potatoes, as they’re my favourite comfort food, bananas for energy and a sugar hit, and sushi as it’s got a bit of everything in it.
What would you cook to impress a man?
The fact I was cooking in the first place would impress him! I’m a lousy cook.
What’s your favourite drink?
I love mojitos, they’re swimming in liquid sugar!
Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:
“Lisa eats healthily and her regular balanced meals reduce her temptation to snack. Large gaps between meals result in blood sugar dips, which can cause you to feel sluggish and irritable. Eating small amounts often and including slow-releasing complex carbs like rice and veg will help to reduce cravings and keep the mind alert.”
