Reality TV star Chantelle Houghton, 25, tells us what’s in her fridge
Where do you shop?
M&S, Sainsbury’s or Waitrose – I spend about £60 a week.
What is your typical daily diet?
Breakfast is cereal and fruit, lunch can be a jacket potato or a salad, and I often eat out in the evening with friends – we usually go to Nando’s. I rarely eat desserts.
Do you ever diet?
Sometimes. I’m reading the diet book Skinny Bitch, which recommends cutting out dairy, sugar and meat.
What’s the heaviest/ slimmest you’ve been?
I’m 5ft 7 and the heaviest I’ve been is around 9st 10lbs. I went down to 8st during my marriage break-up two years ago.
What’s the most unusual ingredient in your fridge?
Edamame beans. I’m addicted to them!
Is there anything you refuse to eat?
Meat and fish. I’ve been a veggie for moral reasons since I was 11.
What’s your favourite comfort food?
Nando’s veggie pitta with chips – I love it.
What do you cook to impress a man?
Penne arrabbiata (tomato and chilli sauce).
What’s your favourite drink?
Rosé wine or bottles of Evian.
Nutritionist Catherine Matthews says:
“Chantelle’s weight has yo-yoed over the past few years. She is a healthy size now but should watch her eating patterns. There’s no need to cut dairy out of her diet – low-fat dairy products can help to make you feel fuller, so you don’t overeat. She could think about eating out only once a week, and stock up on fresh, healthy food to cook at home.”
