Where have all the celebs gone this week?

Where have all the celebs gone this week? They can’t all be watching Big Brother and The X factor… Can they?
As summer draws to a close and the nights draw in I cannot remember a week quite so quiet in celeb land. No Jordan nonsense, no Cheryl and Ashley shenanigans and mainly positive stories in the press for once. What on earth has happened?
David Walliams completed his marathon swim and raised over a million pounds in the process despite a serious dose of Thames tummy enroute. I am would have thought it might have actually helped him with a bit of extra propulsion. I wonder if they’ll add ‘Thames water’ and ‘laxatives’ to the banned substance list for London 2012? At least for the swimming events anyway!
It was an amazing sight to see him emerge from the murky water, obviously frozen but still ‘remarkably’ funny! What is it that makes the really successful amongst us tick? Quite apart from the obvious requirement of the ability to swim how many of us would have what it takes to do what David just did? And even if we were able to, how many would have wanted to risk life and limb for charity?
Think about it now, when was the last time you were asked to do something out with your normal daily routine? What was your excuse for not doing it? You did make an excuse didn’t you? What was it? Too busy? Didn’t know how? Not fit enough?
Successful people ‘do.’ Others ‘say’ they can’t.
That doesn’t mean they actually can’t it means they ‘say’ they can’t.
Life is not much of a spectator sport; much more fun if you get stuck in and make a difference but only you can make that difference. The essence of the change you want to see is in you and you’ll be amazed at the magic that happens when you take that first step or stroke or even just decision.
You become when you think you are and decide you will… The rest is just the rest. Think about it this way. Did you notice passing any beggars on the way to work today? When did that person, that human that soul become a ‘beggar’? Was it when they actually put their cap down in the street and asked for money, or was it when they set out this morning intent on doing it?
They became a beggar when they set out with that intent to ‘work’ as a beggar. Just as you set out to work at whatever it is that you do for cash. You become what you are intent on doing… So, what are you intent on doing with your life?
Life (as I said last week) should be something you ‘do’ not something that just happens to you.
But it’s ok, you don’t have to have it all figured out and do it all yourself. Something magical happens when you set out with good intent and take the right action, it’s almost as if a power far higher and bigger than you decides that it’s a worthy cause and gives you a helping hand. Try it for yourself…
Just as David Walliams didn’t raise all that money by himself or even know where it was going to come from when he took the plunge you don’t have to know it all either. You just have to know that there is plunge to take, and then take it. The rest, well the rest is what happens. If you do nothing then nothing happens, if you do something then ‘some things’ happen but if you do what you are moved to do then anything is possible. You don’t have to be a celebrity to be a star! Be the one who lights the way for those around you so that through your perspiration they can find inspiration and motivation.
