What is your health age?
Thursday 10 March 2011
Today Bupa are launching a new tool – The Health Age Calculator, which allows users to assess how their lifestyles are affecting their life expectancy. Results show that the average Briton has a health age a shocking 12 years higher than it could be – effectively reducing their life expectancy by over a decade!
The calculator asks for basic information such as height, weight and age and for details on smoking, drinking, diet and exercise habits. The calculator then quantifies how far they’re rolling back the clock or fast-forwarding their life if they continue in the same way. To help empower people to make changes, the calculator also provides a figure of how many years someone can add to their life and provides recommendations, in likely order of priority, as to how to start lowering their health age.
You don’t have to be a Bupa customer to access the Health Calculator and the tool is completely free to use. www.Bupa.co.uk/findhealthy
