Jamie Oliver sings McDonald's praises
Monday 26 April 2010
It has come as a shock to discover that celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who has led a tireless campaign for healthier school meals, has been singing the praises of fast food chain McDonald's.
We have no doubt the bosses at McDonald's were feeling particularly pleased with themselves when they heard about their unlikely new fan.
Jamie made the startling comments in his US show Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, and even seemed to surprise himself: “I can’t believe I’m sitting here telling you McDonald’s UK has come a long way, but actually it probably puts quite a lot of gastro pubs to shame with the amount of work they are doing.”
He continued: “McDonalds in the UK is very different from McDonald’s in the US. The quality of beef, they only sell free-range eggs, they only sell organic milk and their ethics and recycling are being improved.”
We wonder if Jamie's change of heart has anything to do with his kids fancying a Happy Meal every so often. It would give Jamie the odd break from cooking too!

RE: Jamie Oliver sings McDonald's praises
not forgiven him for what he did to kids school dinners yet - i have kids i know how he messed those meals around into such a state the kids have been driven to local bakeries for lunch - and pay silly prices both in and out of school for bottled water!! the prepared school lunches have been altered into boring meals not many children want to eat. in my opinion he should go back and get proper feedback across the board to see if his so called improvements actually did have any positive effect on kids at all.
